Can I get sick with Covid-19 by taking the vaccine?

No, the vaccine does not contain a live virus.

Will I test positive for Covid-19 on a viral test?

No, viral tests determine if you have an active infection. If you were to test positive, that would indicate that your body was not able to produce an immune response in time.

If I have already had COVID-19, do I still need to get the vaccine?

Yes, re-infection is possible.

Will the vaccine protect me from getting COVID-19?

Yes, the vaccine produces an immune response which helps your body recognize the virus for future exposures and can prevent contracting the virus.

Will the vaccine alter my DNA?

How many shots do I need?

Pfizer and Moderna require TWO doses while Janseen (Johnson & Johnson) only requires one. If you require TWO, it is very important you receive both doses.

Are there any side effects I may experience after having the vaccine?

Side effects are generally mild and only last for a few days.

- Pain and swelling at the injection site
- Tired or fatigued feeling
- Fever
- Chills
